I create handmade knitted and crocheted plushies, stuffed animals, baby blankets and unique cloth books for children. Every piece is worked by hand in my home just outside San Antonio, in the yarn and colors you choose.
My vision is to bring a little joy to a child through a soft, handmade friend — and to give parents something safe, sturdy and worth keeping. Nothing here is mass produced. Everything is made after you order it.

I am a knitter, crocheter, quilter and crafter, and have been for 58 years. What began as something to keep my hands busy became a boutique — a way to send handmade, huggable things out into the world for children I will never meet.
I live in Converse, Texas, just outside San Antonio — cowgirl country — which is how the boutique got its name: Cowgirl Baby. New designs go up often, and you will find me at craft shows around town through the fall and winter.

I have been a knitter, crocheter, quilter and crafter for 58 years. Every plushie, blanket and cloth book is worked stitch by stitch in my home in Converse, Texas. Nothing is mass produced and nothing is outsourced.

Most plushies come with plastic or glass safety eyes, but for a child three and under I will embroider the eyes instead — just ask when you order. Everything is fiber-filled with soft, washable yarn made for small hands.

Along with the stuffed animals I make baby blankets and one-of-a-kind cloth books for children. They are the kind of gift a family keeps in a drawer long after the baby has grown up.

Elle the Elephant comes in six colors, and almost everything else can be made in the shades you have in mind. Send me a nursery theme, a favorite animal or a name and I will create something just for you.

I vend at craft shows in the fall and winter around the San Antonio area, and I ship year round. Come say hello, squeeze the plushies, and pick your favorite in person.

A nursery theme, a favorite animal, a blanket in the colors of the crib, a cloth book with a child's name in it — tell me what you are picturing and I will make it. Yarn and fabric are chosen by hand for every order.
Embroidered eyes are always available for babies. Most custom pieces take about 2 to 3 weeks.

Soft chenille, acrylic and fur yarns, all fiber-filled. Some, like Luna the Moth and Elle the Elephant, are only filled in the head and feet so they stay floppy and easy for a small child to snuggle.
Yes. Elle comes in gray, pale gray, pink, blue, green and lavender, and most other pieces can be made in the colors you want. Blankets and cloth books are always made to your palette.
Everything is made after you order. Most plushies take about one to two weeks, and blankets, cloth books and larger custom pieces take about two to three weeks. I will always give you a timeline before I begin.
Always. Send me a favorite animal, a nursery theme, a color scheme or a name and I will design it for you. I will confirm the look and the price with you before I pick up a hook.
Hand wash cool with a gentle soap and lay flat to dry. Baby blankets can go through a gentle machine cycle in cold water. Air drying keeps the yarn soft and the shape true.
